Camp Recap · Guiyang
Guiyang's summer is always steeped in a kind of softness; blazing sun and evening breeze wrap us like feathers. The roundtable—the central image of Guiyang's summer and a common sight on street corners—not only supports this city's rich, complex, layered taste system, but also carries the weight of thought we can participate in during these brief twelve days, or some eternal stretch of time.
Curiosity and impulse toward the world connected us. When we cried out on the page about the world's sweetness and truth's clarity, the mood was graceful and enchanting. Truth napped with us. We sat in circles in classrooms, lighting the flame of thought; we also sat on fresh pine needles in the forest, embracing life's reality. We bathed in the light of predecessors' thought and tried to merge our own streams of thought into the river of ideas. We wandered through the city's maze and, deep at night, laughed or wept at fresh inspirations and crisp new names.
The Zhihe Nexus roundtable reading camp is an echo clinking glasses with truth, and a love letter written to this city and the curious young people here.
